ABOUT ME

Jean Marie is a safari guide and wildlife photographer based in Kigali. He was born and raised in Rwanda's northern province, home to the endangered mountain gorillas. Jean Marie’s background as a service supervisor at various safari lodges allowed him to meet people from different cultures and learn how to handle international travelers, but safari guiding has always been his passion. After attending guiding and interpretation courses and gaining several years of experience managing numerous safaris in Rwanda and Uganda, Jean Marie has developed a deep understanding of tourism in East Africa. He is a certified professional safari driver-guide who believes in excellence and enjoys taking tourists on gorilla trekking, game viewing, bird watching, hiking, and long drives. Above all, Jean Marie loves photographing wildlife in its natural habitat and is always eager to learn in order to refine his photography skills.
